Lecce is one of the 22 Italian Enterprise Zone

An Enterprise Zone is a specific geographic area targeted for economic revitalizing.  Enterprise Zones support economic development and investment in distressed areas by offering tax advantages and incentives to businesses locating within the zone boundaries. 

Italian Enterprise zones are selected on the basis of a series of indicators, and they will take place in:

: Catania, Gela, Erice (Sicilia), Crotone, Rossano e Lamezia Terme (Calabria), Matera (Basilicata), Taranto, Lecce, Andria (Puglia), Napoli, Torre Annunziata e Mondragone (Campania), Campobasso (Molise), Cagliari, Iglesias e Quartu Sant'Elena (Sardegna), Velletri e Sora (Lazio), Pescara (Abruzzo), Massa Carrara (Toscana), Ventimiglia (Liguria).
