Buying a property in Antigua and Barbuda will be the solution to all your questions, because, at the end of this reading, you will be able to move perfectly and invest in the most correct way.

So, if you are ready to dive into this adventure, you just have to arm yourself with paper and pen to write down all our tips. Our journey is about to begin! Let's start with some historical notions, essential to better understand the culture of the place

Antigua was first reached by Christopher Columbus in 1493 and colonised by the British in 1632, who introduced and installed an economy based on tobacco and sugar cane plantations. With the emancipation of the slaves, however, in 1833, the entire system suffered a deep shock, until obtaining only in 1981 the independence so desired.

Currently, the economy is based mainly on tourism, so much so that this sector accounts for about half of the gross domestic product. In fact, there are many luxury resorts, supported by investments and financial services stalls that have satellite offices in Antigua.  The only limit for agriculture instead is the scarce supply of labor, considering that the sectors mentioned above, collect and employ about 80% of the local population. The research and education sector is also important, especially since the opening of the College of Medicine at the American University by foreign investors. What are the documents required to access this state?

A passport with at least a residual validity of six months at the time of entry into the country is compulsory. For a stay of more than 3 months, a visa is required. In terms of security, this is a location that does not present particular elements of crime.  The language spoken is English and the currency in force is the Eastern Caribbean Dollar (EXD), which corresponds to 0.33 euros.

Let's analyze now the cost of living. Let's talk about a land that offers a lot both in terms of beauty, but also of employment activities.  Just to have an idea, we report a small list of products and expenses that you could face once you get to Antigua.

Meal, Cheap Restaurant8,29 €

Fresh white bread loaf (500g) 1,33 €

Rice (white), (1kg) 1,65 €

Eggs (normal) (12) 3,31 €

One way ticket (local transport) 0,83 €

Basic (Electricity, Heating, Air conditioning, Water, Garbage) 82,86 €

Last but not least is the question par excellence: buy a property in Antigua and Barbuda. If Oprah Winfrey, Giorgio Armani, Richard Branson and Eric Clapton have decided to buy a second home here, we can well understand that the target audience is that of luxury. But there are also opportunities for those who simply want to live daily in such a unique reality, even without too many comforts.

What can I say, we hope that our mini guide has been useful and ... are you still there? Run and book your one-way ticket to this paradise!
